April 1, 2008

Lahive & Cockfield, LLP is pleased to announce that Amy E. Mandragouras has been named Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. Ms. Mandragouras succeeds Giulio A. DeConti and is the first woman to chair this committee. Lahive is the only intellectual property law firm in the area with a woman in this position.

Mr. DeConti, who served as Executive Committee Chair for seven years and will continue to serve as a member of the Committee, commented, “Amy has been a member of the firm’s Executive Committee for five years and has played a significant role in the firm’s management and building the biotechnology patent practice. As we look to the future, Amy’s experience is well suited to lead our firm on a path of continued growth.”

Mr. DeConti also noted, “Lahive is deeply committed to the advancement of women within the firm and I am pleased to see that tradition continue.” Lahive is among a limited number of firms to achieve a nearly equal ratio of male to female attorneys with women making up 44% of the partners.

Ms. Mandragouras specializes in biotechnology and chemistry patent law, including patent preparation and prosecution, patentability, validity and infringement opinions, intellectual property due diligence and licensing.
