Practice Description

Mr. Gulati’s practice focuses on the management and development of intellectual property portfolios, including the drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications in a variety of genomics, chemical, biotechnological, and mechanical fields. Maneesh has engaged in extensive freedom to operate analysis, due diligence, opinion work, and license negotiations. He has further experience in the filing and prosecution of trademark applications and the handling of trademark oppositions.

  • Managing patent portfolio of Fortune 500 company (i.e., 600+ patent applications in 20+ countries) in genomics and biotechnology fields.
  • Conducting freedom to operate searches and analysis involving technologies in biotechnology and chemical arts (vaccines, antibodies, antibody development, culture media, pharmaceutical formulations, cell lines, and constructs).
  • Preparing invalidity and non-infringement opinion letters and opinion memoranda involving various technologies in biotechnology, chemical and mechanical arts (vaccines, large molecules, small molecules, genomics, antibodies, antibody development, culture media, pharmaceutical formulations, cell lines, vectors, and bioreactor apparatus).
  • Conducting due diligence on emerging biotechnology company on behalf of investors.
